Pinecrest Residence, Suwanee, 2024

This project is a client design for a 1970s ranch-style residence in Suwannee, Georgia. Over the years the interior of the home suffered extensive water damage, requiring a complete gut renovation for repairs and upgrades.

During the renovation process, an extension was added to the property’s northern exterior, creating a new, sizeable living room and allocating extra space for a larger dining room and kitchen within the existing interior. Additionally, the ceilings were vaulted over the now open-concept dining and kitchen rooms, producing a spacious and airy atmosphere. The previous floorplan was recycled with minor adjustments to the bedrooms, including removing closets, opting for built-ins to maximize storage, and augmenting bedroom size to properly accommodate the clients and their two children in the 1200-square-foot home.

The design transforms the interior from dark and outdated to bright and inviting by implementing a neutral color scheme with accents in muted tones and pops of pattern. By reintroducing the wood paneling and mixing modern and vintage pieces, the styling provides a fresh and contemporary look while paying homage to the home's mid-century origins.
